Gaya Koljay

Gaya Koljay is a bilingual novelist, creative writing teacher, and lifelong storyteller whose work spans genres, cultures, and continents. Born in Poland, she studied psychology in the Netherlands before settling in New Zealand, where she earned a doctoral degree in creative writing. Writing under the name Gaja Kołodziej, she has published more than a dozen novels across Young Adult, New Adult, romance, women’s fiction, and cozy mystery, earning a devoted international readership.

A member of the Polish Writers’ Association, the European Association of Creative Writing Programmes, and Romance Writers of New Zealand, Gaya brings a deeply international perspective to her work. Shaped by movement, language, and emotional nuance, her storytelling blends vivid character journeys with page-turning plots that explore connection, resilience, and identity, stories that resonate with readers around the world.
