About the Author

Jon Mallet is a horror author and self-proclaimed terror nerd based in Montreal, Canada. With a background in biology, he draws inspiration from the savage elegance of the natural world and the profound complexities of the human mind. His stories are a fusion of visceral horror and psychological depth, unflinching in their exploration of trauma, fear, and the monstrous things that live both outside and within us. His mission? To create the kind of nightmare fuel that lingers long after the book is closed—because in Jon’s world, no one escapes unscathed.

Whether he’s building soul-scarring monsters from the shadows of science or dragging his characters through emotional hell, Jon approaches horror with a meticulous, immersive style. He believes the best horror isn’t just about blood and fear—it’s about what those things reveal about us. When he’s not writing, Jon is usually buried in a book, brainstorming new horrors, or picturing the worst possible outcome for every scenario (it’s a gift). He’s also a lover of reggae music and a casual frisbee enthusiast, which he swears balances out the darkness.

His upcoming series, The Nest Trilogy, begins with A Witch in the Nest and is set in his hometown of Petawawa. Blending folklore, psychological suspense, and supernatural horror, the trilogy explores themes of free will, the corruption of innocence, and the insidious nature of evil that hides in plain sight.
