Kareem El-Baradie
About the Author
Kareem El-Baradie is an Ancient Egyptian fantasy author who took the long way around to discovering his true calling. After four demanding years completing a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, he realized that the path he was on did not align with the stories he had always carried inside him. His lifelong passion for fantasy and his deep love of ancient Egyptian mythology and history, once dismissed as impractical or mistimed, resurfaced with clarity and purpose. What remained, after everything else fell away, was a singular truth: to create a fantasy world inspired by Egypt’s gods and legends, and to invite others to dream of a time when their magic felt as real as the wind.
Determined to bridge creativity with structure, Kareem entered the video game industry, earning a master’s degree in industrial engineering with a focus on project management before joining Ubisoft Toronto. Over seven years, he rose from coordinator to manager, contributing to major titles such as Far Cry 6 and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. The lessons he gained in worldbuilding, creative direction, and managing large-scale creative projects now fuel his debut series, Secrets in the Hieroglyphs, where he brings his lifelong dream of Ancient Egyptian fantasy to life.
